Privacy Policy

Your conversations stay on your phone

Effective date: March 24, 2026  ·  Last updated: March 31, 2026

The short version

No account required. PlusOne works without a login. We never have your name, email, or any identifying information unless you contact us directly.

Your conversations never leave your device. The AI model runs locally. No message you type is sent to our servers — or anyone else's.

Image generation is also on-device. When you ask for a picture, it's generated on your phone. The prompt and result never touch a server.

Delete the app, delete everything. There's no account or server backup. Uninstall PlusOne and your entire conversation history is gone.

RevenueCat handles subscriptions only. If you subscribe, RevenueCat manages entitlement state — not your chats, not your personal info beyond what's needed for purchase validation.

This Privacy Policy describes how PlusOne and its operator collect, use, and handle information when you use the PlusOne iOS app and the chatplusone.com website. By using PlusOne, you agree to this policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. What PlusOne does not collect

Let's be direct about what we don't do, because it's the most important part:

2. How the on-device model works

When you first launch PlusOne, the app downloads an open-source language model (~1.5–2 GB) to your device over Wi-Fi. This download is the only time the core AI functionality requires a network connection. After that:

The same applies to image generation: the Stable Diffusion model runs in RAM on your device and generates images locally without any server communication.

3. Where conversation history is stored

Your conversation history is stored in the app's private sandboxed storage on your iPhone. This is the standard iOS app container that only PlusOne can access. It is not:

If you have iCloud device backup enabled in your iOS Settings, Apple may back up app data (including PlusOne's local storage) to iCloud as part of your overall device backup, according to Apple's own privacy policy. This is controlled entirely by your iOS settings — PlusOne does not initiate or control iCloud syncing.

4. What happens when you delete the app

When you uninstall PlusOne from your iPhone, iOS deletes all of the app's private data — including your entire conversation history, downloaded model files, and any locally generated images you haven't saved to your photo library. There is no server-side backup. There is no account to log back into. Deletion is permanent.

5. Subscription management (RevenueCat)

PlusOne offers optional paid features via in-app subscription. Subscriptions are processed by Apple, and we use RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlements (i.e., to know whether you have an active subscription so we can unlock features).

RevenueCat receives the minimum information needed for this purpose: a pseudonymous app-user identifier, your subscription status and tier, and renewal events from Apple. RevenueCat does not receive your conversation content, image generation data, or any personal information beyond what's needed for subscription validation.

RevenueCat's own privacy policy applies to the data they process: revenuecat.com/privacy

Payment card data and Apple ID information are handled entirely by Apple and never pass through PlusOne or RevenueCat. Apple's privacy policy governs those transactions.

6. Technical and diagnostic data

Like most apps, PlusOne may collect limited technical data to help us understand crashes and improve performance. This may include:

This data does not include the content of your conversations or image generation requests. Crash reports are collected through Apple's standard crash reporting infrastructure, subject to your iOS diagnostic sharing settings.

7. The chatplusone.com website

The chatplusone.com website is a simple static site. We do not operate user accounts on the website, run behavioral tracking pixels, or collect form submissions beyond what you explicitly send us. Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, page visited, timestamp) may be retained for a short period for security and operational purposes.

8. Support communications

If you contact us at privacy@chatplusone.com, we will process your email address and the contents of your message in order to respond. We keep support communications for a reasonable period to help with follow-up questions. We do not share your support communications with third parties except as required by law.

9. Children's privacy

PlusOne is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Your rights and choices

Because PlusOne does not collect or store your conversation data on our servers, most data rights requests (access, deletion, export) are simply satisfied by your control over your own device. You can:

Depending on your jurisdiction (California, EU, UK, etc.), you may have additional rights regarding any personal data we do hold (primarily support communications and any subscription-related pseudonymous identifiers). Contact us at the address below to exercise those rights.

11. Data security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited data we handle. Your conversation data is never transmitted off your device, which is the strongest security posture we could adopt. For subscription and support data, we rely on industry-standard security practices.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be noted in the app or on this page. Your continued use of PlusOne after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

13. Contact
